Our programme supports tauira (students) to remain connected to Te Ao Māori while learning hands-on animation, production skills and soft skills for entering the creative tech industry. We have infused kaitiakitanga (pastoral care) throughout the programme and tauira (students) are introduced to masterclasses from partnerships in the AMO Collab – group of New Zealand’s finest creative agencies, VR gaming and production specialists.
Stunning young creatives are now out in the work force beginning their careers working for the world's best digital animation creative tech companies.
We are incredibly proud to announce that two TORO Academy graduates have secured year long, paid internships with @disguise in Auckland! Kody and Terri worked hard to ensure they got the absolute best out of the 16-week programme and their skill, talent and determination has paid off.
Now the hard mahi starts! Watch this space as we are working on some other exciting internship placements for some of our lucky tauira (students) .
TORO Academy are extremely grateful by the generosity of the creative tech companies who have stepped forward to give their time and expertise to tauira (students) .
